Fish consumption advisories
The Oregon Health Authority has issued consumption guidelines for parts of the Columbia River due to high levels of mercury and/or PCBs. Fish with these chemicals look, act, smell and taste like any other fish, so caution is important.

SALMON, STEELHEAD AND SHAD
On Saturday's (9/13) flight, there were 878 boats and 31 Oregon bank anglers from Bonneville down to Warrior Rock Lighthouse.
Gorge:
Weekly checking showed 250 Chinook, 35 jack Chinook, and one coho kept, and six Chinook, two jack Chinook, and two coho released for 122 boats (446 anglers); and 15 Chinook and four jack Chinook kept for 119 bank anglers.
Troutdale:
Weekly checking showed 113 Chinook, 23 jack Chinook, and five coho kept, and five Chinook, one jack Chinook, two coho, one coho jack, and two steelhead released for 376 boats (752 anglers).
Portland to Warrior Rock:
Weekly checking showed 493 Chinook, 82 jack Chinook, and 25 coho kept, and 30 Chinook, 18 jack Chinook, 14 coho, one jack coho, and two steelhead released for 563 boats (1460 anglers); and no catch for nine bank anglers.
Warrior Rock to Rainier:
Closed to salmonid angling.
Rainier to Lower Puget Island:
Closed to salmonid angling.
Lower Puget Island to Tongue Point/Rocky Point:
Weekly checking showed two coho kept, and nine Chinook and nine coho released for five boats (12 anglers).
Buoy 10:
Weekly checking showed 243 coho kept, and 158 Chinook and 186 coho released for 212 boats (628 anglers).
Bonneville Pool (Bonneville Dam upstream to The Dalles Dam):
Weekly checking showed 96 Chinook, six jack Chinook, and two coho kept, and 18 Chinook, three jack Chinook, and one steelhead released for 92 boats (268 anglers).
The Dalles Pool (The Dalles Dam upstream to John Day Dam):
Weekly checking showed 255 Chinook and 31 jack Chinook kept, and 11 Chinook, two jack Chinook, and one steelhead released for 171 boats (520 anglers); and no catch for one bank angler.
John Day Pool (Columbia River above John Day Dam and John Day Arm):
Weekly checking showed no catch for three boats (six anglers).
Sturgeon
Lower Columbia River (below Bonneville Dam):
Closed to retention. No report.
Bonneville Pool:
Closed to retention. No report.
The Dalles Pool:
Closed to retention. Weekly checking showed five legal sized sturgeon released for one boat (four anglers); and two sub-legal sized sturgeon and one legal sized sturgeon released for three bank anglers.
John Day Pool:
Closed for retention. Weekly checking showed one sub-legal sized sturgeon released for one boat (three anglers).
Walleye
Lower Columbia River (below Bonneville Dam):
No report.
Bonneville Pool:
No report.
The Dalles Pool:
Weekly checking showed four walleye kept and four walleye released for two boats (three anglers); and no catch for two bank anglers.
John Day Pool:
Weekly checking showed 32 walleye kept, and 12 walleye released for 12 boats (25anglers).
